    Reece Baker

     

    Reece has been recognised as one of Australia's greatest up-and-coming talents. With origins in the surf and genetics on his side - he is an undeniable force both on the ocean and flatwater. He is currently recovering from a shoulder operation and is looking forward to being back on the water in March.

    Steve Bird

     

    Originally from South Africa, Steve was awarded South Africa's top all-round junior paddler a few years ago. This is some honour, considering the depth of talent there. Since arriving in Australia, Steve has combined exceptionally well with Jesse in the K2, and have been producing some fantastic results at a National level. We look forward to successful year ahead.

    Daniel Bowker

     

    An up-and-coming surf paddler and all-round nice guy, "Bowks" has taken to flatwater racing like a fish to water. His selection to the Australian U23 team at only his 1st National championships, attests to his talent and his dedication to training.

    Matt Coutts

     

    One of the most respected paddlers in WA. A genuinely nice guy, Matt is developing into one of WA's great Avon Descent paddlers. His key discipline is marathon which helps him prepare for Perth's Avon Descent each August. In 2007 Matt came close to that pinnacle finish, back into training his making every effort to reach that goal in 2009.

    Tzak Garnett Leevers

     

    Tzak dreams about paddling. He considers himself a whitewater paddler, and has an unquenchable thirst to push his limits and master his playboating maneaouvers. He can be found on the Lower Murray at every opportune moment, although he is currently experiencing the rivers of the world.

    Robin Jeffery

     

    Originally from Perth, Robin had to make the tough move to Penrith to further his paddling career and development. In 2009, Robin has finally broken through into his first Australian Senior Slalom team alongside C1 paddler, Olympic medallist and former World Champion, Robin Bell.

    Jesse Phillips

     

    2009 is also the first year that Jesse Phillips has attained Senior National team selection. He is super-passionate about his sport and is involved in all facets of the sport, from Sports Administration and Development to coaching and serving on club committees.

    Brendan Rice

     

    Another up-and-coming paddler is Brendan Rice from the Bayswater Paddlesports Club. As a junior Brendan attained National Selection on the Junior Marathon teams and Australian Youth Olympic teams. His exploits in 2009 will take him to Mauritius this July for the Surf Ski World Cup.

    Lisa Russ

     

    After making her first Olympic team for Athens in 2004, Lisa had almost decided that she had reached her pinnacle, but thankfully she decided to embark on another 4 years of intense training and in Beijing as part of the Womens K4 500m team won Bronze ahead of a number of European powerhouses. Lisa has decided to hang up her paddler for now and pursue her Physiotherapy practice in Derby. We wish Lisa all the best.

    Ty Stedman

     

    Ty has been involved in all facets of the sport. Having initially started as part of the 1997 TID intake he has since competed in every discipline of paddling. Aside from his competitive paddling he is heavily involved with the coaching, instructional, and administration side of the sport currently serving as President of the Bayswater Paddlesports Club. He owns and operates Precision Paddling Australia.

    David Worthy

     

    David Worthy is one of the most qualified and able paddlers taking to our waters anywhere in the country. His beloved discipline is Downriver of which he has won the past 2 State Championships ahead of much younger competitors.
