While he has a relatively short history in kayaking, Daniel made the transition in the winter of 2008 after spending a couple of years on a surf ski at the Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club. After a few cold and shaky months of terrible blisters and some early morning “swims”, things finally started to steady once the summer months came. Nationals came around and Daniel surprised himself by gaining selection to the U23 Team. In April 2009 Daniel qualified as an electrician after a 4 year apprenticeship and now works for Wormald Fire Systems as an electrical technician.
