Online Training Programs

Each Avon Descent season we offer an Online Training Program service through this site. Register by emailing us for a FREE 1 month program which will lead in to the following months of the Avon Descent campaign.

The programs will be provided via a link and password that will be emailed to you once each month's program is available.
We will be offering 2 programs each month:
Beginner:
First-time Avon Descent campaigners
Intermediate:
Those paddlers with 1 or more Avons under their belt, or with more than 12 months paddling experience.
Cost:
5 months plus 1 FREE (6 months total) - $110 incl GST 4 months plus 1 FREE (5 months total) - $99 incl GST 3 months plus 1 FREE (4 months total) - $82.50 incl GST
Payment will only be required at the conclusion of the Free month if you choose to continue.
We support a structured long-term approach to preparing for the Avon Descent. It is inadvisable to commence your preparation less than 3 months out, particularly if this is your first Avon.

Personalised Programs

Need some guidance to help you stay focused and on-track to reach your goals.
We can help you every step of the way. With University qualifications in Human Movement and Physical Education, Ty Stedman, has the training and experience to help you reach your goals.

Season Planner
A season planner sets a road map to your training. With a season planner you will see the progression of your training to help you pin-point peaks and key competitions in your season.

Monthly Programs:
Monthly programs clearly set out your monthly sessions in accordance to your overall goals. When used in conjunction with a season planner, they become the ultimate guidance system on your way to smashing your paddling goals.

Gym Programs:
Need a gym program to supplement your on-water training. We can customise a range of gym programs to suit your fitness level, goals and current training phase. This is the perfect addition to your monthly program.


Initial setup: $60 incl. GST
Season Planner: $160
incl. GST (optional)
Monthly Programs: $50
incl. GST per month plus initial setup
Gym Programs: $40
incl. GST per program (3-8 week depending on phase)


"This year’s (2009) Molokai race was tough! We started with a faint headwind which increased to about 10 knots in the latter stages. After one hour I was feeling good and turned up the pace a little for the next hour to sit at the back of the top third of the field. Then I did it hard for about 45 minutes before I started to come back and regain some position with a mid-field finish.  I'm really happy with my effort as it was my full potential and everyone definitely earned their spot!  Ty’s weekly programs and Jesse’s on-water coaching had me well prepared with my time of 4hrs 46 minutes and average of 11km/hr being better than last years (almost 5 hrs) even though last year we had way faster conditions."
