The Australian Surf Lifesaving Titles, held at Scarborough Beach for the 3rd and final year have produced some exciting races for spectators as the Scarborough break claimed top competitors as they made their way both in and out of the break.
Other WA paddlers to appear in finals today included Brendan Rice (Bayswater Paddlesports Club & Trigg Island SLSC), who had a strong start making his way clear with the lead paddlers when he was claimed by a Scarborough wave, a set-back which for the U19 paddler produced a break that was too much to regain.
Alana Nicholls (Scarboro SLSC & Bayswater Paddlesports Club) was also unlucky in coming off her ski on the way out in her final this morning.

For Alana and Reece the season will take on a new focus now as they both begin training as part of the Australian Senior Flatwater Kayak Teams this year.
